Basic Skills

Dear Parents/Guardians,

    Welcome to our Basic Skills website! Our goal in Basic Skills is to help your child succeed in and out of the classroom.  Basic Skills is comprised of a group of dedicated and passionate teachers that are an additional resource within the school.  A student’s eligibility for the program is based upon an array of measures such as: test scores, reading assessment levels, benchmark scores, and teacher recommendations.  

    Our primary focus in Basic Skills is on English Language Arts and Mathematics.  We collaborate with the classroom teachers to improve overall academic performance in the classroom setting.  The program will provide struggling students with additional instruction in their regular classroom setting as well as small group instruction.
