About Me

My name is John Ponterio and I am teaching Fourth Grade Mathematics and Science this school year.  I am really excited about teaching these subjects and look forward to working with your children.  Before explaining the curriculum, let me introduce myself!

 

I grew up in Union Beach and attended Memorial School as a kid.  My parents used to own a small deli in town and I have always enjoyed being a part of this community and giving back.  Growing up, I played soccer for the Union Beach Cobras and I am happy to see the town's soccer program continuously growing.  

 

As for teaching, I graduated from Georgian Court University in 2010.  After graduating, I worked in a few districts as a substitute before being hired as a Basic Skills Instructor in at Memorial School in 2012.  Within my first few weeks, our town and school had endured Hurricane Sandy.  After the experiences during the 2012-2013 school year I knew I wanted to
